My grand debut...

...on the PAC blog is now here. How will it go? Will I make a fabulous splash or crash down into the abyss of hacky hams. My stomach clenchs as the mouse moves slyly towards the "Publish Post" button and I am only a click away from fame.

"If you’re in a play and you have the same jokes to deliver, eight times a week, it’s endlessly fascinating, just trying to hit it each time, and maybe a little bit quicker, a little big later, trying to feel the air in which you’re about to place it. To have 400 people laugh at the same times, you would go to your grave trying to get it right. And it’s also very glamorous when it’s on film, cause you’re not there. I love it when a producer phones up and says: ‘It played very well in France. They were laughing.’ In France."

Gigglingly yours,
Jack

The second week of Rapture

The second week of the Secret Rapture has been full of interesting events. I almost got to experience my own personal rapture after almost drowning on orange squash on Thursday's performance. My lovely group of colleagues came to see the show in what was I think the quietest most contemplative audience we've experienced thus far. There were make-up woes and line flubs, a fabulous talk back with very inquisitive people and a flattering review in the Oregonian. All in all: another week experiencing the living arts. I wonder what next week will hold.....

Moving Ever Onward

Yes, the opening weekend of The Secret Rapture is now in the past, and man are my arms tired. From all the bird imagery... get it? No? But seriously folks, now I face the next two weeks of performances. Will I resist reading reviews until the run is over? How many more people can I bully into coming to see us? Will some jerk ask me an impossible question during the talk-back, causing me to faint on stage? Oh, the dramatic tension is thick (note the lame attempt at witty word play there? Oh yeah). Find out these answers and more in the next two weeks. Be there!

We're knee deep in Tech week

After a long but productive Cue to Cue the show seems to be pulling together. Now it feels like it's crunch weekend. Can I make my costume change in time? What's going on with the lights? What's my cue? Can my hair and boobs possibly get any bigger??? All of these important questions will be answered in due time. What else is Tech Week for? Our health? PLEASE!!! I am super excited though to have all my co-workers coming to see the show. It's the first time they'll get to see what I do when I leave work everyday. Probably very different from anything they'd imagine! Who would guess they're being time warped back to 1988 England and trapped with family drama for over two hours. I don't know, but it sounds exciting!!!!
